Sacred Heart Convent School is a Catholic School established and administered by the Congregation of the Apostolic Carmel Sisters. The School is under the religious jurisdiction of the Bishop of Jamshedpur.
The school is an unaided, minority school, imparting education to the girl students, irrespective of their caste, creed, religion or social and financial background.
Sacred Heart Convent School was established on 15th January, 1945 and the school began functioning from 22nd January, 1945. It is started at 5, Beldih Triangle, thence to C.N.R. Hall, Dhakidih High School and Dalma Villa. A plot of land at Park Road, Northren Town was allotted by Tata Iron and Steel Company (now Tata Steel Ltd.) and the present school building was constructed and occupied in January 1951.
In March 1952 the school sent up its first batch of Matriculates. In 1963, the affiliation to the Council for the Indian School Certificate, New Delhi was obtained and the first set of students took the ISC Examination in 1965.
The change over to the present Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) was made in 1974. The first batch of ISC students (Std. XII with Arts, Commerce and Science) was sent up in March 1995.
Sacred Heart Convent School celebrated its Golden Jubilee (1945 – 1995) in the year 1995 and Diamond Jubilee (1945 – 2005) in the year 2005.
The School has made provisions for the weaker students to appear for the National Open School Examination(NIOS) for Class X.
The Hindi Project School has been started keeping in mind the lesser privileged children.
The School received Jharkhand No. 1 Day School Award in the year 2018 – 2019.
Sacred Heart Convent School has been recognized for outstanding development of International Learning and Curriculum.
