| The Sacred Heart Band is one of the most prestigious school bands of the city.. It all began way back in the late 60�s when Sister Veronique was the Principal of our school. She was instrumental in formalising the very first band of the School. Mr. Paul an ex-army man was the first instructor. He rendered selfless service by teaching the students and helping the band to grow over the years. The band uniform comprised crisp white straight skirts and white shirts with red rims. In 1989, almost two decades later when Sister Flavian became the principal, the band got its first exposure to play for functions other than those held in the school. This brought recognition to the band in the town and gradually it became the most sought after band in Jamshedpur. We are proud that till this day we continue to live up to the reputation of being the best. Today at almost every function held in town, be it the 3rd of March, International or National Sports meets or to honour any famous personality, you can see our girls marching in line in perfect co-ordination in their smart red checked skirts, white shirts and red berets under the guidance of Tr. Perveen Rana who has been incharge of the band for over twenty-five years. She has always accompanied the band for all the functions over the years and has always encouraged and guided it. The band students are also very grateful to the Principal who has always supported and motivated the band to do better at all times. |
